BOARD OF DIRECTORS

James Ferreira

President

Pat Hill

Secretary
During the past 50 years, Pat has acted in fifty-three plays and directed twenty-eight. When
asked about her most memorable work she replied, “Vivian Bearing in Wit was my most
challenging role. The play that was the most fun to direct was Calendar Girls.”
As a founding member of The Acting Company, Pat says, “Our volunteers are our most
valuable asset. We are here because of them.

Foster McManus

Board Member
To say Foster has a passion for theater is an understatement. Bitten by the theater bug as
a child working in community theater with her mother she was happy to find a home to
share theater with her son. In the 30 years since moving to Yuba City to establish a wellness
clinic with her late husband Paul, she has been committed to The Acting Company
working as an actor, director, costumer, set builder and board member.

Robert Gengler

Board Member

Curt Schroeder

Vice President
In 1983, Curt, Pat Hill and Dexter Black founded Theater ‘86, later renamed The Acting Company. Curt was elected president and remained so until 1992, when the company’s present home on B Street was purchased. Though it was to take on many different iterations, the building started life as a grocery store. In addition to the office of president, Curt has worn many other hats. Offices he has held include Vice President, Past President, Secretary and Chair
of the Season Committee. His acting credits include Billy Bigelow in Carousel, Ben Rumson in Paint Your Wagon, and Sidney Bruhl in Deathtrap. Directing duties include Bye Bye Birdie, Guys And Dolls, Our Town, and Forever Plaid which won an Elly for best show. He has
written four shows, three of which garnered Elly nominations, two of which won. This year he will be directing Daisy’s Dilemma, a play which he also wrote.

Stephani Fuhrer

Treasurer
Stephani is a recent addition to The Acting Company Board and is the current Treasurer. She comes to us with over 20 years experience in accounting. Stephani is an avid supporter of the arts, especially theater. Her greatest desire for The Acting Company is to see it grow and expand and hopes that in her role as Treasurer she is able to help facilitate that.

Bob Harlan

Board Member
Bob Harlan has been a member of The Acting Company board of directors since 1993 and has served in several capacities. He was president for several years between 2007 and 2010. In addition to our contracted cleaning service, Bob has, for the past 12 years, cleaned the theater four times a weekend during performances! Bob has also overseen promotion for the theater and has directed maintenance of the facility. Lots of hats for lots of years! Many of you may know Bob as the owner and general manager of KUBA and COOL 104 radio for nearly three decades until fall of 2010. Bob has also served on the board of several other organizations, but has a special love for the theater! Bob says, “I am pleased to see the arts and theater ramping up in our community and look forward to working with the new theater groups to place Yuba-Sutter above nearly all other communities of our size in the amount and scope of our theater experiences.
