Ahoy, thespians! We’re seeking a vibrant, dynamic cast to set sail with us for a rollicking adventure full of satire, romance, and swashbuckling fun in The Pirates of Penzance. All roles are open, and performers of all backgrounds are encouraged to audition.

Audition Requirements

• Please prepare 8–12 bars of a song not from The Pirates of Penzance
• Bring clearly marked sheet music for our accompanist (no a cappella or karaoke tracks)
• You may be asked to participate in cold readings and/or a brief movement audition

Character Breakdown· 

• The Pirate King – Flamboyant and charismatic, the Pirate King is more style than menace. Requires a commanding baritone and a flair for theatrical comedy.· 
• Major-General Stanley – A sharp, eccentric officer with a lightning-quick patter song. Needs excellent comedic timing and crisp enunciation.· 
• Frederic – The earnest young hero wrongly apprenticed to pirates. Romantic, loyal, and slightly naive. A classic tenor role.· 
• Mabel – Major-General Stanley’s confident, intelligent daughter. A gifted coloratura soprano with poise and charm.· 
• Ruth – Frederic’s former nursemaid, comically devoted and overlooked. Requires a strong comic contralto performance.· 
• Edith, Kate & Isabel – The General’s other daughters, full of sparkle and strong harmony work. Great opportunity for singers with personality and precision.· 
• Samuel – The Pirate King’s loyal right-hand man. Baritone with a sly sense of humor.· 
• Sergeant of Police – A deadpan, lovable authority figure. Bass-baritone with strong comedic instincts and a feel for physical humor.· 
• Police Ensemble – Quirky, coordinated, and brimming with character. Must move well and enjoy ensemble comedy.· 
• Pirate Chorus – Bold, brash, and musically sharp. Ideal for those who enjoy playing exaggerated characters with strong harmony vocals.· 
• Daughters Chorus – Graceful, clever, and vocally expressive. Looking for singers with elegance and personality.
